Intro to Painting {Highlighting & Shading Sea Series} ~ 4 Week Course

Intro to Painting with a focus on Highlighting and Shading. A 4 week course where you will learn essential traditional acrylic painting techniques so you can construct a successful painting with realistic lighting, shading and shadows. Each week we will work on a different sea series painting.

Through step-by-step explanations, demonstrations, and one-on-one coaching from Jenny Hughes your painting skills will improve rapidly in this 4 week course. All supplies included.
Week 1 – MOON SHELL PAINTING. Learn the placement of highlights and shadows, where the light is coming from and how it is interacting with object.
Weeks 2 – ROCKS PAINTING. Understand how to use tonality to give form to your subjects and learn the basics of mixing colors and blending.
Week 3 – DRIFTWOOD PAINTING A crucial part in painting a successful shadow is identifying what type of shadow it is because there is no such thing as a generic shadow. You need to know what the differences are between a cast shadow & form shadow & how to approach painting them.
Week 4 – WAVE PAINTING Learn how to work with different blending mediums to create transparent, and reflective surfaces. Learn essential principles of reflections and painting water scenery to create convincing reflections and shadows.
